I would be surprised if there were more than one or two actual real-life farmers at the Subiaco Farmers Market.
What you will find there, though, is fresh, delicious foods of all kinds. The best things at the market are the artisan food producers: organic cheese, freshly pressed olive oils, gigantic free range eggs, jersey cow milk, a whole stand of gluten-free bakery items and the pork dude who never ever brings enough of those amazing sausages.
There’s also heaps to eat right there and it’s a bunfight to get a seat on the benches to drink your coffee or fresh juice and eat some amazing breakfasts including crepes, calzoni and spanakopita.
Be warned, if you’re after ingredients for weekend lunch, be early to get the good stuff, even if you gotta fight the mums with the prams that cost more than my first car. Later on, you’ll be hanging out with pretty young things scoping out hungover breakfasts.
Both options are well worth the visit though.
